a gtx 460 for resolution of 1920X1080 and above.a gtx 275 for 1680X1050 and below.
don't buy the 285.The 275 is just around 4fps slower in all games. If you OC'ed it it will overtake the 285

I just got a gtx 460 1gb and it is fast plus they run cooler than any thing that I have had to date. This card runs cooler than my old dos era card on up to my 9800gt sli setup at idle and under load they don't run all that hot at all. I am using the gigabyte version and it whisper quite you didn't know it was there under 100% fan speed.

If it is nessisary to know what my machine is it has a AMD Athlon II X3 440, I am getting 4gb ram, Resolution is at 1280x1024, the PSU will be a 700w w/ 2 12v rails of 28A each, and i dont know the motherboard.

And this is why we asked what your machine was, a GTX460 would be overkill at that resolution.

Save yourself some money and get a 5750, in my opinion.

I guess if it has to be Nvidia, even a GTS250 would suffice.

So I guess if I had to pick out of the three, the GTX275, but only if the price is right.

At that resolution you are better off with a gts 250 than a gtx 275.As I told u a gtx 275 is for rez near to 1680X1050.Also it would be better to replace ur cpu coz it may bottleneck ur 250.Don't get a 5750 coz with the nvidia card YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT twimtbp GAMES,PHYSX which the ati 5750 does not have.also the gts 250 is slightly stronger

The thing about the gtx 460 is that is does have Physx and the cuda prossecors, and DX11. If i bought the HD5770 turbo iceq5 which is what i had consididered it would cost $195, the gtx 460 would cost $10 more and would be better. All i need to know is the gtx 460 above all the other cards in performanace? :bounce:

Your cpu won't bottleneck any of the cards you listed above. A bottleneck occurs when the gpu is held back by the cpu's lack of power. Your cpu is a reasonably good cpu for gaming, and it will run any of those cards just fine.

The stock speed of the Athlon II X3 440 is 3 GHz...
