My buddy has a dvd/cd rw, and we tried to burn windows 8 (legally) on to a dvd. It said it was succesfully burned and when we tried to run the program it said the media is corrupted.

So we tested the dvd on another computer, same result.

I got a different dvd/cd rw drive and tried again, same result but the program was able to run. So why is this happening?

i7 2600k
Asrock p67 Pro3se
12gb ram
hd 6870
1.5tb hdd
nzxt phantom
850w Kingwin

Any help is appreciated.

Its sounds like the first burn didnt write 'correctly' and you didnt have 'verify burn' to check it. Then the second instance it burned and worked correctly.
