Psu wattage requrement

Hello sir,
please tell me what wattage psu is required if i have,
1)Gigabyte Intel GA-G41M-combo mobo
2)intel c2d 3 ghz processor
3) 1 gb ddr3 ati graphics card
4)4 gb ddr3 ram
5)500 gb or 1 tb harddisk
and which should help overclocking if required.

Depending on what ATI graphics card you've got, you'll be looking between 350W and 500W.

Hi and welcome to Tom's forum.

What 1GB GPU do you have? Because isn't the same have a 1GB 4650 that 1GB 5870.

Im all confused too...

this article says this 6 core system needs about 300W
but the setup build is 1000W....
not sure i understand.... 1000W is a bit too much no?

Those 300W are for the total system, not only for the CPU.

Also that is not the total full out system load I dont think I am pretty sure that is just full load on CPU only and of course its running the rest of the system but its not loading the GPU. The test setup in that article had an HD5850. If that was full out GPU and CPU loaded then I would imagine it would have been a bit higher so you need to know what GPU you have exactly before you go out and get a new power supply.
