Will a Corsair HX850W PSU be enough for 2 gtx470 SLI + Overclock an i5-650 to around 4ghz? (I will get a liquid CPU cooler aswell)

Yes Corsair 850HX will easily handle those cards and that overclocked CPU and that too with further headroom.
just an advice, a quad core CPU with some OC will be better in the long run. Get a i5-750 instead and OC it.

Yeah, but I already got the processor, and isnt most games nowadays designed for dual core?

Most applications (including games) don't take advantage of quad cores yet, but quad (and more) is the future, so one way or another things will have to be optimized for multi cores somehow. So getting a quad or six core instead of dual cores is recommended for future proofing.

Besides, you like to multi task don't you?

Well thank you for your answers! Nice to hear that i don't need a larger PSU since i barely can afford the current one. Im going to get an i7-860 when i change processor, but for now I think I will be able to play games like Metro2033 (which is designed for dual core) just like a charm!

Do I need some sort of custom fans when I run gtx470 in SLI or is it enough with the standard? In that case the only custom cooling system will be for the processor.

Yes you will be able to play all those games pretty decently!!
I was just saying that , if you haven't bought, then it will be better to get a 750(Not that 650 is not a good performer )

GTX470 in SLI will dissipate a large amount of heat! But just make sure your case has good airflow and that should be enough..
Also Monitor temps while you play using software like HWmonitor

I already purchased the i5-650 a long time ago, and i know that I should have got the 750.
I was thinking about the i7-860 but I didn't have the money back then.

Is the i7-860 mutch better than the i5-750?

For gaming there is not much difference in their performance.
So stick with 750, but your 650 should also serve you well for sometime

I have the HX850 PSU - the modular design is great, and yes it will support your two GTXs as well as your OC

I upgraded from a Tricore (I was in your shoes once and thought, Wow, there is no way that games use more than dual cores yet) to a Quad about 3 days ago. Battlefield runs 25+ frames smoother with the ability to turn settings all the way up and not affect performance at all. Quad is the future.

I don't doubt you, but I think its more important to upgrade the GPU rather than the CPU for now.

And Battlefield Bad Company 2 is designed for quad core...
