Problems with build

Hi all i have just recently started building my new computer and am at the point where i am trying to connect the case pwr switch and lights to the motherboard which is a MSI P67a-GD53 and have run into a problem i cant find the connections the motherboard is refering to in the location the board is refering to i see just 2 black boxes that look like they are on its side

Your motherboard's manual clearly shows where the front panel wiring goes. If you didn't buy the board new and don't have the manual, go the MSI web site for the manual:

I can't tell for sure what I'm looking at in your blurry pic, but that is indeed the location of the JFP1 and JFP2 headers for front panel connections. There appears to be a connector or something attached to the headers (?) in the pic, but I can't be sure. See if it (they) come off. The header should have a series of pins sticking straight up. Maybe a clearer pic?
