Ahoy hoy...would a Phenom X4 9950 (HD995ZXAJ4BGH),2.6GHz,125W,rev.B3,SocketAM2+,Quad-Core work with a AM2 ASUS M2N32-SLI DELUXE WIFI mobo ??? im guessing i would need to update the bios...also would the PSU need to be upgraded (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153052) ??? also have 6GB ram (2x2GB & 2x1GB gaming 800 MHz sticks) GeForce 460 GTX GPU and case fans (1x120mm and 2x80mm fans)...would like to know if this the best processor i can install on this board?

Also, would like to know if there are motherboards that can use ddr2 and ddr3 RAM on them (not at the same time obviously that way i wouldnt have to purchase new RAM)...would like to try and seamlessly use this CPU stated above or whatever best CPU my M2N32 mobo can handle and then eventually upgrade my mobo at a later date (and RAM if need be).

You do NOT want a Phenom X4 9950, don't waste your money. You want a Phenom II or Athlon II.

I would recommend a new psu since your 500w has less power than my 380w and 380w would NOT be sufficient for that system. That 500w psu is more like a 350w psu.

THis looks to be the best (available) that you can use. Unless you can still find a Phenom II X4 945. The 955 MIGHT work, but it's not listed in your cpu support list.

You will need to update your mobo's bios with the old cpu before installing the new one.

The answer to your question though is yes, it's supported, but they are known for being very poor performers and you would probably be better of with a X2 dual core.

Not trying to be redundent to your response. I am just looking to do some upgrades to the same mbo that i own. Yes i know an "ancient mbo".
