i am installing a new hp sata dvd-rw drive into my dell desktop. i have installed the drive with the pata to sata conversion, installed it as a secondary master and made the installed cdrw the secondary slave( put the jumper in the second 'slot' on the back of drive).
under my bios, i have the following:
primary master:hdd
secondary master: unknown device( my dvd drive i'm assuming)
primary slave: off
secondary slave: unknown device( should be cdrw)
yet, when the machine is booting up, neither device is found.
is there something im missing?
