I'm thinking about buying i5-2500k, GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 or a similar motherboard, and 2x4gb 1333 or 1600 1.5v ram like the corsair vengeance, mostly for diablo 3 and starcraft 2... So I was wondering do I just buy a solid state drive and install windows 7 64 bit, the games, and some type of driver on the ssd and it just uses the rest of the space for quicker loading?

No, you install Windows to a HDD and the SSD is used as a cache to improve performance.
Here's a link on how to set it up: http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_smart-response_e.pdf
