If you want to use the Sandy Bridge's iGPU to perform video transcoding using QuickSync then yes. If you want to use the Sandy Bridge's iGPU as a fallback in case your discrete graphics card fails then yes. If you're not going to be using any of these features then no. Can't find your answer ?
