$3000 - $5000?

Really?

Its a computer, not a car! for $5000 you can buy 2 fully decked out i7-980x systems

Sheesh. At that price, just pick whatever you want. it'll work.

A decent system that'll run all that well can be purchased for $1200-1500 (using an AMD hexcore), or for $2500ish for an i7-975 extreme or 980x 6-core.

^ Ok, that will do if you are going to be using heavy rendering programs like 3DS Max, Maya, etc. Else that is a waste. The FX is NOT a gaming card, you need a gaming card if your main priority is gaming.

Is there a good card that can do both heavy rendering and heavy gaming?

^ For the sake of OpenGL performance, I'd get a GTX460 or 470. Both of these cards have good OpenGL performance that is needed for many 3D rendering/CAD programs. These are also quite good gaming cards.

But seriously, do you need this system ASAP? Sandy Bridge is just around the corner.

What's a good alternate to ASUS P8P67 PRO LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard? I'm having trouble finding it in stock.
