Fisrt of i d like to say hello to all tomshardware comunity, i have been watching tomshardware quite a few years but first time now i made an account.

well going into the subject i recently bought some new pieces to upgrade my old old pc.

at present my pc will run with

psu: thermaltake rx tr2 550 watt

cpu: i7 950

ram: 3x2gb ddr3 1333mhz

hdd: 2 x sata 2 hard diks

gpu: gtx 460 palit 1gb sonic (not platinum edition, it wont be overclock to platinum standards)

sound blaster x fi extreme music

and a pci wifi card

also it will have 2 usb devices

i wonder two things first of all can my psu handle all this ? i m never indeded to do overclock isnt my style thats why i bought i7 950 nor 920 or 930

and Second and most important my psu got only 1 x 6 pin but the card came with an adaptor 2 x 4 pin to one 6 pin

what should i do ? use the one 6 pin connector from the psu to the one 6pin of the gcard and the adapter to the second power in of the card or what????

thanks in advance!

and what about the 2*6 pin

should i use the one 6 pin power from the psu and the 2 4 pin to one 6 pin witch was in the package of the graphics card together ?

Yes. If your card requires two PCI power plugs, you should use two.

A GTX460 uses a bit less power than a GTX260. I have a Q9550 OC'd to 3.6 GHz with 4 GB of RAM, 3 hard drives, an optical, and a sound card installed. Loading the CPU with 3 instances of Prime95 and 3DMark06, Mr. Kill-A-Watt says my system pulls 375 watts from the wall. At 80% efficiency (Corsair 750TX), that's about 300 watts from the PSU.

So, with the qualification that you do not have the greatest PSU in the world, you should be fine.

Thats it i guess.

The question is
Wondering if my PSU is enough for GIGABYTE GTX 460 1GB SOC or not ?
Not going to OC or Bench with Furmark or else. Just for common usage.
