Rate my build?

I'm just looking for an opinion on how good of a build I have going here. I have most of the parts so far... I might be able to get the last few pieces I need by the end of next week. I'll still need the OS and peripherals, but it'd be nice to have all those parts for the PC itself now, right? Anyways, here's my build:

Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127500
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145299
OS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116716

Mouse: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104178
Keyboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823126087
Speakers: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121036

What do you all think of this build? Think I might need to get an aftermarket Sound Card to really enjoy those speakers at all? Or would integrated sound be enough? Please and thank you for any opinions or merits.

More about rate build
  1. Hmm for us to rate as per $$/task rig has to fulfill:

Off the bat : i would hit the HD 6870 rather than any HD 5850 and rather than a $105 Asus 870 a $90 crossfire capable Asrock one ^^

  2. Do us a favor, if you want us to rate your rig, don't just post the links, post what it is on top of the link s we don't have to open 12 tabs; This way we can get the jist quicker and people will not just ignore the post.

Power Supply should have more tolerance @ higher temps - go with something a lil less generic (trust me if you get a good one, you won't have to swap it for many many, even full upgrades) and you don't want to be feeding that 5850 bad power...

No on the Sound card if your JUST going to have those dinky things...

What do you plan on using the rig for - that would help us better determine how effective it will be at meeting your needs.
  3. Well, I've already bought most of the parts... I just need the RAM and Processor right now...

I plan to use it mostly for gaming and surfing the web.
  4. ^+1 batuchka for 6870 recommendation - still not used to those being on the market
  5. The R5850 was expensive enough! I don't need something that can play the most graphically intense games out there. I just needed something that could play Fallout: New Vegas and games of that caliber reliably.
  6. ?? the 6870 is CHEAPER
    and FASTER
    lol

unless you already bought that part...
  7. Oh... .___.
I'm new to building computers... and that's the one that my buddy told me to get if I wanted a good graphics card for cheap.
