Computer ( Turns on but does not boot up )

Computer powers on and does not boot up...however occasionally it does boot and It works perfectly. Getting it to power on and boot past post is luck of draw ( i need to reset a couple of times to get it to properly boot ).

Any suggestion/help would be greatly appreciated.

*update* same problems as before, when I do eventually get it to boot up and work it crashes ( freezes ) up after a few minutes of activity

well i checked the thermal paste and it doesnt look good...gonna reapply new compound. could this be the reason why my computer does not boot up sometimes and freeze/crashes?
