See editing the reg is where it gets tricky... because you will have to look up the dimensions (Pixels x Pixels) specific to your resolution, otherwise you will have issues... using a theme creator is the better way to do this.. and then save the theme, and lock it down so it cant be changed through a "rule" created in Windows.

honestly im fine with that, I just need a way to do it... also im very anal about what programs i use, other then the typical games on my pc i have little to no actual software xD its basically just chrome, minecraft server, stress tests, and hwmonitor :)

Good, I'm the same...

You can grab theme creator packs from here:

http://www.windows7download.com/fr [...] e-creator/

Or just google one,and find a light weight theme creator with a good review, and start carvin up.

Yea thats a good one if your confident in doing that sort of thing :)
Alot of people cant get it right.. "oh, and I seem to of lost my right click menu on windows also"
and
"I have the same problem, my image gets brighter, what should I do?"

Nice guide though, best ive seen for it so far.

:D Thanks for those links guy, I was really hoping to find a guide on what to edit in the registry so I can use that method as opposed to a program doing it for me.

Call me stubborn but its what I prefer. ;)

I've googled around and found nothing on this matter. D:

A view from the other side of the fence: I used to fiddle with theme packs. I was determined to make XP look like Vista. It turns out that all the changes required can add up to quite a bit of system instability, so several lockups later I did a system file restore and never looked back. Performance and stability are the no 1 priority for me now.

Lol thats how they made Vista.. add in some cool looking/unstable visual packets, security/navigation features.. and release it. It was a wonderful OS.

I kid I kid...

7 Works a bit differently though, the theme creator should do the trick... and the good thing is.. you can save that custom theme after you have finished making it... so you can come back to your old designs.

hmmm, Ok here was what i was thinking, install the theme creator stuff in VMware (yes i have it), save theme, uninstall theme creator, scan with multiple programs to ensure its save, the simply copy then saved theme over to main pc...

Any idea if this would work, and any idea where the themes are saved?

HMMMM!!!!

Thats a mighty good question sir!

You should be able to do it because you can download themes of the interwebs and apply them... I would create your theme... wack it up on a theme store of some sort, and then save that html... and put it on any computer that you wanted later... The only thing is you would have to find out how to get it to install as a package unless the theme creator provides options to save it as a package that you can install on any computer...
