I need more space.

Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium
System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
System Model: Inspiron 518
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz (4 CPUs),~2.5GHz
I dont know if this is need but here it is.
What i need is more space on my computer like 500-1tb i also want to need if i can keep the hard drive in my computer right now.

Two options.
First, replace your HDD with an SSD. This one is alright and inexpensive:

You will not believe how much it changes your computing experience.

Then you will be free to install your old HDD as a data drive.

Second, buy a second HDD and install it as a data drive:

If your laptop doesn't have a HDD expansion slot internally, get a USB hard drive:

2 things...
1: i see your computer has sata, just sort the drives by anything sata.
2: groundrat didnt even take the time to google an Inspiron 518 he actually suggested an SSD and thinks you have a laptop.

Id just go with some cheaper seagate drive, like a barracuda... matbe a WD. you would want to look at the 3.5 inch drives.

so i can just plugin this wd and i will be able to run both hard drive because the one i'm useing has all my files and os on it?

Also thanks for pointing out that he said laptop i didnt even see that.
