Computer timing out

I have a custom computer that has been running great but now I have a TV I use as a monitor through digital output and a 3.5mm jack for sound.

The problem is that even with movies playing or music, if I dont move the mouse or hit a key on the keyboard, the tv goes standby..

I cant tell if this is caused by the computer or by the T.V. but I am out of ideas.

Any help would be great!

Have you tried checking your Windows screensaver settings?

I only have an XP machine in front of me right now, but Vista/Win7 are pretty much the same.

Right-click desktop -> Properties/Personalization -> Screen Saver -> Monitor Power

Verify whether or not "Turn off monitor" is set to something like "15 minutes". You want it set to "Never".

Its set to "never," I already checked that.. thanks though

I figured it out, apparently windows 7 (even for desktops) have power options. the power option was set to 10 minutes to turn off screen. Thanks for the help
