I just built a new rig, but brought over my 2 1/2 year old corsair 450w VX and my 8800 gt. Could my PSU handle the upgrade to an HD 5850?

Rig:
Asus M4A785TD-V EVO Motherboard
Phenom II 955
4GB G.Skill DDR3 1600 Ripjaws
Samsung F5 Spinpoint 500GB
Asus 24x DVD Burner
EVGA 8800 GT
Lian-Li Lancool PC-K58
Corsair 450W VX

Unfortunately no, the 5770 by itself recommends 500Ws, the 5850 recommends 550Ws.

actually ATI recommends a generic 500w for the 5850. Luckily the Corsair 450w peaks at 575w and more importantly has 33a on the 12v rail. More then enough for an ATI 5850 system which at load, total system power won't break 350w even with an OC Intel i7.
