besides the impressive cyclone cooler, the cards seem......unimpressive at the current price point

No good. Beaten by the GTS 250 in some cases when it shouldn't be in any case. The one good thing that came out of this for nvidia is that it makes the GTX460 seem even more awesome.

kinda reminds me of the 220 and 240 that came out to compete with low end ATI
except this is slightly less impressive

SLI scaling is insane though...but I doubt someone who bought this card would ever consider adding another

This card is beaten by an overclocked version of my 3 years old 8800 GTS 512mb in some instances...

/thread.

G92 is still the king, though if the price drops to 100$, people can consider these cards in SLI.

Dunno. This card looks right vs current AMD for the 1680 gamer who can buy another if/when he gets his 1920 monitor. It's a year late, and may not hit the shelves before AMD has better offerrings though.

It's already on shelves. But then again, AMD already have better offerings.

Techpowerup has a slew of reviews for GTS 450s;
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/
It seems like at stock clocks(783mhz) they have it matching the HD5750(slightly faster at 1680x1050, slightly slower at 1920x1200.) The thing is almost none of these cards are sold at the stock speed that I've seen and some of the factory OCs put it at or close to an HD5770. Overall it seems appropriately priced compared to the ATI cards at the moment but nothing special.

I too agree, that the GTS450 is not impressive. I thought it to be somewhat around the HD5770, but comes out weaker in most cases.

What is the price it is expected at?

So the <=$150 mark still belongs to ATI.

5770 same price faster

SFAIK the GTS 450 will be $10 more than the 5770 with lesser performance.

./Sarcasm

BIG WIN NVIDIA!!!

Not promising as I thought

I never knew about it until I came across a pre-release news post on some random site showing its benchmarks and expected rrp(Can't remember what this was, all I know is it was $10 more than the 5770)

I Immediately thought it was crap, it couldn't be a let-down in any-case seeing as I never knew about it/wasn't looking forward to it in the first place.

Can't wait for 6770/6830/6850 spec's though

Well at that price i don't think nVidia is going to sell much of GTS50. At the most i can think of people using it as a PhysX card. Even then it wouldn't be that useful.
