Here are my specs:
Toshiba Satellite A45-S120
2.6 Ghz Celeron processor, 128KB Level 2 Cache, 400Mhz FSB
up to 2GB PC-2700 333Mhz DDR1 Ram
Up to (currently) 320 GB IDE PATA Hard Drive 8MB Cache (biggest IDE avail).
How is a new laptop better if I upgrade this current one?
1) it can only go to 2GB of Ram, not 4.
2) What is the 128KB Level 2 Cache, I see some new laptops have 1+MB Cache's, does that matter.
3) From my understanding, PC-6400 800Mhz DDR2 Ram is equivalent to PC-3200 400Mhz DDR1 Ram, so is there any big benefit there.
Also, am I right in assuming that a faster FSB doesn't make any difference unless you get faster than 800Mhz DDR2 Ram?
So someone suggested my laptop was old, but it's 2.6 Ghz, and many new ones are only 2Ghz, so how's it not as good.
