Hi,
My computer runs very slow if I try to run to many pages at once, or play music and be on web cam at the same time. I know its the RAM cuz I only have 496mb..is there a way to add more ram even if it says it can be maxed out to 512mb? I know how to plug in the ram just need to know if I buy more can I upgrade it.

What kind of computer do you have, what kind of RAM is already in there?

HP Pavilion 700
Pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHz 496 MB of RAM. I have two hard drives an 80gig and a 250 gig. What would the risk be if I add ram expansions?

What is the exact model number, The Pavilion 700 is a series.

You should be able to put more in with no problem at all, but I need to know what model it is to see what type to put in.

I don't see where it says model number, I have a system number P9852A and serial number MX242B7850

It has a maximum RAM of 1GB supported

You need DDR PC2100/PC1600 RAM

I would suggest getting 1 of these and removing the RAM in your system so only this stick is installed.
