hey guys just pieced together a casual system for my girl for her to take into work (research lab).
From what she says, they wont be doing anything too intensive, most people have new iMacs, with C2D, so I figure this AMD X3 will spank all of them for alot less.

DVD Drive = $19

Rosewill Micro ATX case & 450W PSU (I do hate using cheapo PSU's but budget is a big concern) = $55
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147091

Seagate 7200.12 500GB= 38

Biostar 880G+ w/ IGP 4250 = 58

4GB G.Skill DDR3 1333. = 60

Athlon II X3 440 = 75

anyone know of a small HSF that will cool better than stock but still fit in that tiny case?
will that IGP4250 hold up to HD videos okay?

total= about $300

thanks for all the help.

the 880 is fine. However. spend $2 more for the AS Rock 880G. AS Rock uses better capacitors.

Spend a few extra dollars for a real PSU. since you don't have a video card, 300W shoudl be fine:

This SeaSonic is 80+ Bronze and $39.99

You can put it in this Micro-ATX case for $29.99

and get the slightly cheaper Samsung 22X DVD burner: $16.99

also the Athlon 445 is the one that is $75.

basically, for $16 more you have a much higher quality build. if you arent overclocking there is no need for the HSF, the stock model will be FINE.
