New to Windows used to Mac. Where's my ext hard drive?

If it helps I have a Seagate external hard drive.
I've been grounded from my Macbook Pro and so now I have to use the laptop my school has lent me which has Windows 7 on it (I've never used 7, only XP). I have no idea where I am able to go to my external hard drive and open it up to go through the goddamn contents.

Is it possible that it's compatible with only Macs? Because I can't find it in My Computer.

If it's been used on a Mac and formatted for a Mac, Windows won't be able to read it.
  2. Yeah, Apple doesn't let MS read their files systems AFAIK.
