New build startup

Im ready to start my new home built PC.

Quick question - I bought an XFX HD 5770 card and have it installed. Im wondering if I should expect that this should work outof the box? I have no way to install drivers until after it boots but not sure how an aftermarket card will perform without the drivers installed. The MOBO (ASUS P6X58D-E) does not have on board video so I don't think I have much choice but just wondering what to look for on startup.

Ive previously built a couple of PCs but have not in a while so any advice before flipping the switch is appreciated.

build includes:
Asus p6x58d-e mobo
Intel i7 930 CPU (Hyper 212 + heatsink)
XFX HD 5770 video card
skil ripjaw - 12GB ram
2 WD black SATA3 HDD's
Corsair TX850 PSU
single blue ray/DVD disk reader
HAF 932 case

Thanks,
John

More about build startup
  1. Any mobo has some sort of onboard video that you can use to get into your OS and install what you need.
  2. OK - then can you point me in the right direction. I listed the specific mobo (ASUS P6X58D-E) but I don't see anywhere to connect a monitor.
  3. just put the5770 in the mobo and hook it up normally, it'll use generic drivers until you can install ccc.
