ASUS U3S6 Cant use its USB for keyboard during boot

During bootup, my keyboard or anything I have plugged into my U3S6 does not work until Windows begins to start. I am trying to do this so I can disable my onboard USB controller. I have already disabled my onboard SATA controller and that was pretty easy to do. But, this USB not working during boot, I can't figure it out. I have installed all the newest firmware and updates. Here are some more computer specs.

AMD Phenom II X4 940
ASRock A785GXH/128M 1.3 (most up to date bios)
Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB ACHI SATA600 NCQ

If there is any other info you need ask me here or pm whichever is easier for you and thank you.

  1. I thought the whole point of that unit was to provide usb 3.0 to mobos without that feature.
Sure it's backwards compatible with usb 2 but i would imagine 99.9% of users with usb3 don't plug in kb's and mice into it.
Kinda defeats the whole purpose of increased performance by plugging in usb 2 devices and would explain the delay since you've disabled the mobo's usb features.
  2. Try hitting Del instead of F2. Or FN and F2 at the same time
