im going to have 2 raid 1's... 2 ssds 500 gig samsung 840 and 2 wd black 2ter hard drives..the ssds are going to be for programs, and the harddrives are going to be for the my pictures..etc... the mother board only has 2 sata3 coming off the z77 chip.. it has 2 other sata3 ports coming off the other chip.. not sure what that one is called.. would it be better just to put the hard drives on the sata 2 on the z77 chip? i have read the owners maunal for the mother build and am really not sure.. this is my first build its an i7 3770k... thanks tony

Yes. Put your SSDs on the Intel 6Gb/s ports and your HDDs on the Intel 3Gb/s ports.

You won't suffer any loss in performance having 6Gb/s HDDs on 3Gb/s ports; they can't spin fast enough to saturate the ports.
