Hey guys, i've put together a build and would appreciate any advice or opinions you might offer. I was also wondering whether the sabertooth mobo would provide adequate space between xfire 6870 gpu's. Newegg reviewers complained that dual gpu's would be a very tight fit and restrict airflow. I do plan to xfire in the future (maybe in a year). Should i opt for a different board?

Also I am trying to decide between two monitors at the moment;

Dell SP2309W 23-inch 2048 x 1152

Samsung PX2370 1920 x 1080

Here is my build, Thanks a lot!

Intel Core i7-950

ASUS Sabertooth X58

MSI R6870-2PM2D1GD5 Radeon HD 6870

G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3

ASUS Black 24X DVD+R

SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Approximate Purchase Date: within the next week or so

Budget Range: 1500 or so before taxes/ rebates.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (starcraft 2, crysis 2 maybe), movies, possibly some video editing in the future.

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, speakers, headset

Preferred Website(s) for Parts:

Country of Origin: Canada

Parts Preferences: AMD gpu, intel cpu

Overclocking: maybe in the future

SLI or Crossfire: Yes in the future

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 or 2048 x 1152

Additional Comments: I was going to wait for the amd 6900 cards but the 6870 sounds like an excellent card and more than enough for starcraft 2 etc....

Might as well wait unless your in a hurry.. won't cause any harm.

If you "maybe" plan on xfire in a year i would definitely wait on the 69xx series, you should never maybe when it comes to performance.

I would suggest getting Haf X, Core i7 950, Asus Sabertooth x58 Combo Basically you can get the Haf X and awesome case for $20 more than the storm scout, and fyi the storm scout has tight fits on larger gfx cards.

Also I would suggest getting the CORSAIR CAFA70 120mm Dual-Fan CPU Cooler instead of the hyper 212+ as the corsair cooler comes out to about the same price as the hyper 212+ and gives better performance than the hyper 212+

Also If you plan on running xfire 68xx or 69xx you will need a stronger psu min 850w. Such as this one CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply
