According to HP, you should be able to run 16GB. Where did you get the RAM you installed? Are all 4 DIMMs matched or do you have 2 pairs of different models of RAM? What make/model of RAM did you install?

There are times when populating all 4 DIMMs (especially with 4GB DIMMs) that power issues can occur. That may not be the issue here and your OEM BIOS is not likely to let you tinker with the settings very much.

I called HP and they said that since my initial one year for tech support in up, that I willl have to take it back to Best Buy for them to trouble shoot this problem. Crucial, the company that I purchased the memory said that all of my memory is working as designed. I did incease my memory up to 12 from 8 GB with not problem. The moment I tried to max it out at 16 GB, the system will run for a short while, then crash. When I take it back to Best Buy I'll give them the addition 4 Gb and see what they say. I do have an extended war... I've tried just about everything that I can. I believe that my system is current with all of the updates.
