Hello everybody!
I own a hard disk Samsung HD204UI and I would like to ask 2 questions :
1) I used HD Tune to access SMART data of my disk and I found that G-Sense Error Rate is constantly increasing (current value 12369). Also the Program Fail Count is a bit high (5654513). Is my disk dying?
2) I found that Samsung suggests the update of the firmware for this model. (http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/223571en). But I use this disk as en external drive (I‘ve put it inside a HD enclosure) . At my point of view I can’t update the firmware of my drive (unless I find I PC and connect it as master HD). Am I right?
