Any brand and model of 2.5-inch SATA hard drive will work in your laptop, just as long as you don't go above 1TB capacity.
If you had to replace your drive with the exact same model that would be an impossible position to be in if you think about it. What if that drive model was no longer available? That would mean the entire laptop would have to be scrapped!
Incidentally, one of my computers is a Satellite A660 too. A brilliant piece of kit. Not the cheapest laptop at the time by any means (almost double the price of a similar spec Acer or Packard Bell) but worth every penny.
If you dont mind, can i ask how much am i likely to pay for a good hdd for my Satellite A660?
My hdd is also just about to call it quits and am looking for some advice on pricewise and whats the best options out there to replace my old one.
