Using Macbook Pro HD as Windows SSD/HD?

I have an old Macbook Pro that is about to be extinct and I am replacing with a newer Macbook Pro. I just built my first gaming computer and am wondering if I can use the old HD out of the Macbook as a SSD/HDD on my Windows computer? I would prefer not to make it into an external HD if possible.

Thanks for any help.

Yeah, its all the same (with the exception of Apple's proprietary SSDs in the Macbook Air). I've been running my wife's original macbook HDD in my mini-ITX system for a few years now. It's just another hard drive.
