Hello,
I purchased my Winbook Si a few years ago and it had been working fine
until I droped it while traveling. I deceided to purchase another Si
for parts (dvd rom and floppy) to replace them in my machine. Before,
perfoming the switch, everything but these two components was working
perfectly. The machine booted, went online, etc... Now that I have but
in the new dvd rom and floppy, the system hangs at the "Press F2
button" (bottom left) promt. It rarely goes further. (I can sometimes
get into the bios, but the bios freezes after a few seconds.) Once I
got a Cmos error, but only once. To get to the dvd rom and floppy I
needed to unseat other components (hard drive, board, etc.) Could this
be a problem? I made sure that everything went back snug and tight in
its place. Also, can I use the board that connects the hard drive and
floppy to the motherboard from the new Si (the one for parts)? I
figured that since both were Sis, this would not matter. What can I do
to get my machine back up and running? Thank you in advance!
Kind Regards,
