Hello everyone, I have a few parts already for my PC and would like to complete my first build in the coming weeks. I am going to list out everything in the usual format and then post everything I have so far and my ideas for the remaining parts.

Approximate Purchase Date: Sometime before the end of November, first week of December at the latest.

Budget Range: $700 Before Rebates

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Movies, Web Browsing, ect.

Parts not required: Case (see below) , PSU (see below), KB, Mouse, Monitor, Speakers, OS

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg is preferred, tigerdirect and other reputable dealers if theres a good enough savings.

Country of Origin: US

Parts Preferences: by brand or type: AMD GPU, at least a quad core CPU,

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire: No, but option for Crossfire down the road when $$$ is avalible.

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Parts I have:

Seasonic x750

Lian Li Lancool PC-K62

I purchased these at a steep discount earlier in the year during some special deals. I know the power supply is the best of the best in terms of reliability and stability, and should power dual 6870's or more without any problems. The case is exactly what I want as it is fully painted inside and out and is solidly built with good looks imo.

Parts I am planning on buying:

Asus DVD Burner $18.99
Western Digital Caviar Black 1tb $89.99
SAPPHIRE 100314SR Radeon HD 6870 1GB $239.99
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition $152.99
GIGABYTE GA-890GPA-UD3H AM3 AMD 890GX HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard $134.99
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) $74.99

Need help deciding on a CPU cooler to use. Would prefer a tower design rather than something like the h50 or others like it.

Sorry if I forgot anything, just let me know and I will update as necessary. Thank you in advance for any help!

Id grab a hyper 212+. Its a great high performance air cooler for a measly $30. Also look into the spinpoint f3 1tb hdd. Its $15 cheaper than the one you picked out and faster as well.

Other than that your build looks good. Have fun!

Dude very solid build here. If you are happy with your price range with the products you have chosen then go for it. And still have the option for crossfire down the road! :p

Ok awesome thanks everyone. I'll definitely go with that cooler, the reviews show it to be one of the best and cheap as well. The HD also looks like a better choice from what I've seen.

Ready to buy the motherboard this week, looking for any last second input.

I plan on waiting til the 6950/70 launch to buy my gpu in case the new cards blow me away or drastically change the prices of current cards, but my mb is set, and my cpu is pretty much set, just deciding on a 1055t or the 955.
