DDR3 2GB to DDR3 1GB

I have a unique problem. The motherboard I have is Intel DP43BF. The factory bios has a problem with accepting 2GB RAM. I am located in the Philippines and for the live of me I cannot locate a singe 1GB stick of DDR3 1333. I do however, have 2x2GB of RAM and my question is: Can I remove some of the memory modules to make it 1GB?

  1. You can't do that. On the other hand, your motherboard will accept 1 GB and 2 GB modules. Your issue might be incompatible modules, not their size. Are they DDR3 1066 Mhz at 1.5v?
  2. Thanks for your reply.

The motherboard is compatible with 2GB and 4GB DDR3 1066/1333. There was an issue with the factory bios. I finally found 1 GB DDR3, installed the OS and updated the bios to the lastest release and was able to install 2x4 GB DDR3 1333.

    Thanks again for your reply.
