With the 10% off for HD & Graphics Card, I come up with $589.08 Before Rebate

I was hoping to go for the 6850, but couldn't justify the $40 difference at this point, and 5770 seemed to suffice.
Won't do much overclocking (if any), and the Phenom seemed like a better deal than a X4 Propus 640 3.0ghz.

I don't see any compatibility issues, but really need some final opinion before I jump!
Help much appreciated!

ok. consider the Rosewill Destroyer instead of the challenger. Challenger has jumped a lot in price in the last 3 months (from $39 to $59!). The Destroyer has the same starting setup (one front, one back, 1 top fan), differing that the top fan is only 120MM. It has more fan slots than the challenger: adding up to 4 more fans: 1 additional top, 1 bottom, 2 side, compared to just 2 side for the challenger.

Here's a basically similar combo for the destroyer vs the Challenger, $63.98:

thats a BAD combo: the 925 is slower than the 640, which is what will matter in games, and you don't need the expense of a 790.

try this $74.99 Mobo instead...

add the $99.99 athlon II X4 640

then got the SeaSonic 520W 80+ Bronze PSU

With the money saved get a HD6850 for $179

Hmm gotcha. I was looking at this CPU benchmark chart and supposed the Phenom was better in performance than the Propus.

Which version of the 6850 do u suggest?

In some games at the same speed, you'll get up to 3% better performance *at the same speed* from the L3 Cache, in others, its no difference. the 925 is a 2.8 GHz speed, while the 640 is 3.0 GHz. the speed difference will make up the lack of cache.

the Sapphire 6850 is my recommendation. It vents outside the case, helping with cooling, and it seems to be able to stay in stock, unlike the models from Asus and Gigabtye
