Recently, I am thinking about setting up a slave drive somehow. But, I know nothing about it. Is there anybody that could explain it for me in details?

If you are using SATA drives there is no need to set one as a master or slave drive. If you are using IDE (PATA) drives then you will set the jumpers on the drive to make it a master or slave drive. The IDE drives use a wide ribbon cable to interface between the motherboard and drive as opposed to the slim data cable for SATA drives.

Well, it may not be possible. If you have a laptop, it is generally not possible. You need to use an external (usually USB) drive.

If you have a relatively modern desktop, it has SATA connections. In that case, you get another SATA drive, connect it to the computer motherboard with a SATA data cable and SATA power from the PSU, then initialize it. Windows Help can step you through the process.

Only if you have an old computer with PATA (also known as IDE) connection, do you need to set up a slave drive.
