Help me choose a Graphics card for my Mother Board

I am new to this so help please. OK my Computer settings are,Asus Cross hair Mother Board with 2 gig of ram, amd 64 dual core processor 2.81 ghz an i have a 21 inch Asus LCD Monitor an the power supply is OCZ 650 watts . My old card was a bfg 8800gtx an it died.SO now i am looking for a new card, with better performance, than my old card my budget is between 200 an 250 dollars. Please help an list more than 1 graphics card to choose from

ATI Radeon HD5770 for $140 should give you great performance at a 1680x1050 resolution. If you got the nVidia GTX 460 768MB or HD5830 for ~$200 you might get a little bit better performance out of it, but there is probably no point getting anything higher than that.

You probably don't have the other system resources to take full advantage of the more expensive cards, but that is fine since you should be able to max out just about any game at your current resolution.
