What is the minimum size for booting from ssd

Hello,
i'm having trouble with my ssd/motherboard. Recently, after I changed cases, from Armor A90 to a Carbide 400r, i discovered that my motherboard couldn't even overclock a tiney wincey bit my system crashes and everything is set to stock speeds. Also i couldn't boot from my ssd, it says stuff like disk read error, please insert disk. but this disk is recognised by windows (i installed windows 7 on a hdd before i did this). please help!

Specs:
Motherboard: GA-Z68x-UD3r-B3
GPU: 2 x Gigabyte Ultra Durable GTX 580's
SSD: Corsair Performance 3 Series 64 GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
PSU: Coolermaster Silent Pro 1200w (i'm not exactly sure if this one is workign properly :|)

Help would be appreciated guys

uhhh i dont think defragging ssd's are a good idea, in fact its stupid and reduces the flash memories life
