Hi i have found that this proccesor brings to diferent TDP (Therman Desing Power) 125w and 95w, so im looking for an upgrade.
I´m really not sure what it is all about, so i will like to underestand those meanings in order to adquire one of them, both are Black Editions.
My Specs are GA-MA790FX-DS5, AMD Athlon X2 5000+, 6GB DDR2 800Mhz 4-4-4-12 Geil, Ati 6870 1GB, Windows 7 64bit, 600w Xilence PSU , what would be better for my config, and in wich terms could affect performance or heat disipation?
Thanks

The 95W one will run cooler but performance should be the same

That´s all? and what about compatibility issues with the system mentioned above, can it handle 125w processor?

Oh thanks it seems so, then how i am supposed to know wich one i am buying? because it seems the same model, there should be a difference in manufacturer´s code?
I have recently seen some models but the power comsuptions does not appear in the box does it?

I've never seen a 95w PhII955BE in the wild --- and AMD has never posted model specs on that version.

The C3 stepping will OC in a similar fashion to the C2 stepping (with a smidgen less volts). To tell the difference:

C2 ---> HDZ955FBGIBOX
C3 ---> HDZ955FBGMBOX

Well it seems something is missing then check this http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-p...
in the Socket AM3 you will see both CPU

AMD Phenom II X4 955 3200MHz 512KBx4 6MB Deneb 45nm C3 95W 4000 F8I
AMD Phenom II X4 955 3200MHz 512KBx4 6MB Deneb 45nm C2 125W 4000 F8I

Why they make such confussions on standar users?
the only difference is that about voltage (as it seems)

Hi,

Was reading through your post because I was looking for info on OCing the 95W version of the X4 955.

Just to let you know, the 95W version only seems to be available in Asia. I live in Tokyo and bought one last year.

Here in Japan they are sold as "non-Black Edition" X4 955s.

Here is a link to a local retailer:

(Everything is in Japanese but you can make out the specs)

I know it's an old thread. I was just trying to provide some additional info as I have seen a number of other posts from people asking about the 95 watt version of the 955.
