Cannot wait longer

I cannot wait longer for September Best graphic card for the money... I guess it has been delayed.

Anyway, I have 27inch 1080p monitor, using xp and playing starcraftII. Which card do you suggest for 250$?

Yes, HD5850 is good for high resolution, but again, it depends on your system too...

I think you answered your own question as it's about as powerful as your gonna get for $250 it's a bit better than a 460 although for about another $50 you could get a 470 which I think will perform a bit better than a 5850 in DX11.

HD5850 is good, but you MUST OC your CPU (3.0GHz if you can) to make sure your cpu won't bottleneck your new card...

Your CPU is fine, I don't think that will bottleneck that GPU even on standard clocks.

Actually I'm going to agree with wa1, that system with a 5850 will have bottlenecks, either in the CPU or RAM (bandwidth mostly) as it's only DDR2.

You'll be futureproofing yourself a little if you get a 5850 (IE: If you get a new compy, take the 5850 out of the old one and put it in the new one). Try to also keep in mind the PSU requirements.
