Intel CPu's Confuse me once again

These new fangled processors that intel has buggered up, will I actually be able to chuck one of them in later as an upgrade?
This i3,i5,i7 seems to confuse me more each day.

Your motherboard can handle any of the socket 1156 I3's,I5s, and I7's.

If you are referring to the Sandy Bridge CPUs, then you cannot install it into your computer. They are socket 1155 and are not compatible with socket 1156 motherboards.

There are no issues with the Sandy Bridge CPUs, the problem is with the Cougar Point chipset used in the socket 1155 motherboards.

Basically its socket ... LGA 1156 I need to look out for in future upgrades then.

The I7 870 is the best that your board will ever be able to use and IMO if you ever do this should be your only choice to look at since upgrading to an I5 will yield a very small performance gain.
