Display problem

my hp 6735s laptop comes on but does not display

It can be the display cable it runs inside one of the hinges for the screen. Try moving the screen around. If it is that then it is a relatively inexpensive repair. Other option is that the video card is gone. You can check by connecting to an external monitor.
