Greeting folks,

Been spending the last several weeks looking thru spec's and builds think I have found something that would work for me but wanted to get some opinions.

Already have a good monitor, a 1TB HD and a 450watt PSU w/case. And what I am going to do with this is light 3d gaming (WoW, L4D2, etc.) Looking at the possiblity of upgrading with more RAM and a vidcard later. Or maybe a different motherboard and get a good vidcard now but I really do not want to get outside the $250 that I've set aside for this.

What I've found that I like so far:

BIOSTAR TA785G3HD Micro ATX AMD Motherboard $59.99 on Newegg.

AMD Athlon II X3 445 3.1GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processor $73.99 on Newegg.

Kingston 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory $37.99 also on Newegg.

Grand Total: $171.97 shipped.

Thanks. Now I'm wondering why the G.Skill RAM. I'm a little behind the times on current tech so would like to learn. :)

Which one. His or mine. :) I'm still looking around for more suggestions.

The system I've been using is a AMD64 3000+ on a K8T800 Motherboard supported with a 8x AGP Nvidia 7600GS vidcard and 2Gigs of DDR RAM. Feel that I've simple hit the end of the upgrade path on this system and it is time to finally replace these with something newer. Still cannot complain to much it has lasted me quite a while.
