Hi guys,

Im looking to build a semi-budget build for my brothers replacement PC. I originally settled on the Sandy bridge config, but the news i have been seeing has got me a bit concerned. While i understand it is only affecting 3g sata it is still enough to put me off the config.

Can anyone recommend me a similar priced Motherboard/CPU config. I would prefer intel as im that much more familiar with it but i would also be open to any AMD recommendations.

Hi Rolli,

Appreciate the reply, definetly feeling the i5-760, was eyeballing the AMD Phenom quad core, but deferring now to the 760. Not really sure about the board however as im not familiar with the brand.

Anything from ASUS quality for the 1156 socket?

There is but it is thin not many boards with good CF SLi support but here
Asrock has made it up to being the third biggest Mobo maker overtaking MSI and ECS last year. They were associated with Asus but are now on their own.
