B45 help

Hey guys gotta question for all. I have the msi 870 g45
athlon x3 445 Unlocked to b45 phenom
but no l3 cache . Its showing up a deneb core. I have ACC enable to auto. I dont know what else to try. Also I am in the market for a cpu cooler I have ther thermaltake V6 case need compatable cooler . I stuck between the thermaltake frio Or the corsair h70 watercooler. I do some okay gaming mostly racing games and video design and editing I really could use the l3 cache and and a really good Oc. have hd 4830 no oc. Also need help with catalyst the textures are coming up very shimmery. Can anyone help me out .

If ACC does not unlock cache its because its not there. If you are interested I have tried 3 Athlon x3 440s 1 unlocked a core and cache 1 unlock a core no cache and 1 blue screens immediately on bootup when you try to unlock. The Frio is a very good cooler but one of the loudest, the H70 is not any better but is quieter, the hyper 212+ is much better value and all you need for all bnut the most extreme overclock.

I have the same, two chips (x3 435, both unlock fine) on a Deneb slice but no L3,
for gaming you may be better off re-locking the fourth core and pushing the Oc a little further than having the fourth core though,
I'd say go for a 5770 or higher card, your psu should handle that fine and boost your graphics performance, what game are you playing that the textures are 'shimmery' on?

Every game I play is shimmery. texture and edges are shimmery. Cant find any settings to fix this in catalyst. Have the latest catalyst 11.1 drivers. I mostly play nfs prostreet nfs shift nfs world. codmdw2 and nfs hp 2010. doesnt matter what settings I have my vga card on . I have the resolution on the monitor a 1280x1024. Witch is default for my monitor. Can you help me out vga card is power color hd4830. thx

Is there "shimmering" when you run it as an x3 ?

And try an older driver set too,
I had real issues with the 10.12 release (on my 5770) I think it was, I'm now on 8.801 and no problems at the moment I only seemed to have problems when I installed catalyst and latest drivers.

yes there is shimmering with 3 cores just like i had with 4. Can you recommend a ati catalyst package and driver and settings for catalyst that would fix this problem temporaraly until I get my new monitor and hd5870

version running with no problems, but I think 10.8 was one that worked well before that for me,
sorry I cant be more precise but if you go on ati's site and select the 'older drivers' tab from the downloads section you should be able to get an older set ok,
has your bios messed with your ram settings at all btw? might be worth double-checking those too,
