Approximate Purchase Date: Would like to purchase this week if possible

Budget Range: $1200 - $1300 (would like to keep it on the lower end though)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, some video editing, general internet browsing

Parts Not Required: Operating system

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg

Country of Origin: USA

Parts Preferences: Would like to have an AMD processor and ATI GPU

Overclocking: Perhaps, if it is worth it in the end.

SLI or Crossfire: If it's worth it

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: Would really like some opinions on whether or not the PSU is worth it. Also would like to know some good alternatives for the GPU as well as case, if possible. Finally your opinions on whether getting the 970 is worth it (was thinking of getting the 965 BE as well)?

After looking around a couple of threads here is what I came up with:

Processor:AMD Phenom II X4 970 Black Edition Deneb 3.5GHz

Motherboard:GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5

RAM:G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

GPU:SAPPHIRE 100282-3SR Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) 1GB 256-bit DDR5

HD:SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM

Disc Drive:LG Black 10X Blu-ray Burner - Bulk SATA WH10LS30 LightScribe Support - OEM

PSU:Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W

Case:Antec Three Hundred Illusion Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Monitor:ASUS VH226H Black 21.5" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor

Keyboard:Logitech K200 Black USB Wired Standard Keyboard for Business

Mouse:Logitech SBF-96 Black 3 Buttons 1 x Wheel PS/2 Wired Optical Mouse - OEM

Subtotal:1197.89

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time!

I'd go with a 6850/6870 on the GPU dependin on how price sensitive you are.

I'd also get the 955BE and OC that, rather than pay extra for the 970

Finally, if you have room for it, I'd go with a 24' monitor. Def worth it.
