Can i connect monitor to hdtv with HDMI cable

I would like to connect my HDTV to my computer.
Problem is I do not have HDMI output on my desktop, but I have one on my monitor.
What will happen if I connect additional HDMI cable from HDMI socket on the monitor to HDTV?
Monitor will still be connected to my computer.

The HDMI on the monitor is only a input port not an output so no!
You can use a cable like this from your card though http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=12-186-... presuming that you have a extra DVI connector.
