So my PC died out on me an old 700 xps, so now dell is sending me this.

1 224-8766 Studio XPS 9100
1 313-7358 X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCIe
1 313-8757 Roxio 10.3, Easy CD & DVD
1 317-4595 Studio XPS 9100 Intel Core i7-920 processor(8MB L2 Cache, 2.66GHz)
1 317-4903 3GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz
1 318-0042 Blu-ray 6X BD-R, DVD+/-RW Drive and 16X DVD+/-RW w/double layer write capability
1 320-9227 NVIDIA GeForce G310 512MB DDR3
1 342-1490 500GB Serial ATA 2 Hard Drive 7200 RPM
1 464-7384 Exchange

I would like to upgrade the RAM and the video card.

What card would be my best bet for this pc.

it comes with a 525w PSU so you should be able to run the GTX 460 without any issue.

yep, either the 768mb or 1GB will work well with your resolution. depending on what you want to spend.

Just base it on price and warranty, not a big difference in quality. I belief Zotac has lifetime warranty http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... then there is always EVGA with their good support.

guys dell just hooked me the hell up I told them I was unhappy with what the gave me 50 mins later the supervisor upgrades me to a 5870. now all i need is ram!
