I recently ordered a Hypersonic Aviator GX7 from www.hypersonic-pc.com. It arrived after almost a month of waiting. The only problem I am
having with it is that it seems to have no software for the remote
control. The only documentation I have for the remote is a single page
pamphlet that shows what buttons are supposed to perform which
functions. The remote control is an Avermedia remote, and the laptop
has an internal (the multimedia bay) AVerTV USB 2.0 Video Capture
device. They included software for the TV tuner program, which works
great if I am sitting up close and using my mouse or keyboard to change
channels. I have emailed Avermedia and they have been very unhelpful.
They say that they do not make an internal model of any kind, and
insist I take it up with Hypersonic. I have sent Hypersonic 3 emails
since I got this machine to Hypersonic, all of which have gone
completely un-answered. Not even an auto-response indicating that my
message has been received.
I know how hardware works, and I know this remote control cannot
operate as it indicates without SOME type of software installed
(probably running in my tray) to process the input from the different
buttons. Could ANYONE else with a hypersonic laptop who has this
software PLEASE contact me...since I doubt I will get any help from
AverMedia or Hypersonic.
If this is typical of EITHER of their standard customer support, I will
certainly think twice about purchasing any of their products again.
You can reply here in the newsgroup, but I will be much more likely to
get the response quicker if you email me at heweaver at zoominternet
dot net. Anyone who is able to help should be able to figure that
address out
