More about system sees
  1. O.K. MY system DOES see both HDDs, but it still only shows half of the 2 TBs that should be there. Any input?
  2. Are you saying that the capacity of each 2TB drive is now being reported as 1TB?

If so, do you have a Gigabyte motherboard?

    See Q2:
  3. No. only 1 HDD shows volumes or capacities when I populate. the other shows none.
  4. Is it a Seagate 7200.11 drive?
  5. Very close. Both HDDs are 1 TB Seagate Barracuda 7200.12
  6. Seagate's 7200.11 and 7200.12 drives often fail with "0 LBAs".

There is a fix that sometimes works for the 7200.12. However, I would first obtain a terminal report before comtemplating any changes to the drive.

  7. Maybe I can simply replace the bad HDD with an SSD. Possible?
