Can i upgrade my hdx18 to quadcore q9100

hey guys, I have a HDX18 with T9400 duocore I want to upgrade to Q9100 quadcore, Is it easy to do and do I have to mess with BIOS. Your help is apreciated.

Those processors both are Socket P processors with the same FSB. The fastest CPU that was offered was a QX9300 for that laptop (factory option), so the Q9100 should work too.

But at over $400 for that CPU is it worth it? I don't think so just my opinion.

I never said it was cheap, i just said it would work. Personally, i'd go with the Q9100 because it's quick too, and it's less than half the price of a QX9300 on the used market.

FTo Sir Mavroxur, you said that the HP HDX18 really can support quad core processor?

Currently I have the HP HDX18-1008TX model and wanna upgrade the processor to QX9300... is it possible too? and do i need to mess up with the BIOS setting in order to get it work?
